Special event insurance questions
- What kinds of non-wedding events can I quote?
- Start with your actual event classification, such as a party, reunion, fundraiser or meeting. Event Helper determines eligibility based on the activities, location, dates, attendance and other application answers. These examples are not a guarantee that every event qualifies.
- Is this coverage for the organizer or for a vendor?
- This page is for people organizing an event. A caterer, bartender, entertainer, exhibitor or other vendor may need separate business or vendor coverage. Tell TCDS which role you have before relying on an organizer's policy to meet a vendor contract.
- Can I meet my venue's insurance requirements?
- Have the venue's written requirements ready, including liability limits, additional insured wording, dates and the legal name and address of each entity to be listed. Compare them with the offered policy and endorsements. A certificate alone does not change policy coverage, and venue acceptance is not guaranteed.
- What if alcohol will be served or sold?
- Disclose how alcohol will be provided, who will serve it, whether it is sold and any vendor involvement. Host liquor and retail liquor liability are different. Review the options and exclusions shown for your event, or ask TCDS to help before purchasing.
- Does event liability cover cancellation or bad weather?
- Do not assume it does. Liability coverage is different from reimbursement for cancellation, postponement, lost deposits or weather disruption. This non-wedding quote path does not promise those protections. Ask TCDS if you need coverage beyond event liability.
- When does my event insurance become effective?
- A quote, saved request or payment screen does not activate insurance. Coverage depends on acceptance, purchase and the effective dates and terms confirmed in your issued policy or binder. Check the documents before telling a venue that you are insured.
- Can a local TCDS agent help instead?
- Yes. Choose local agent help in the form or request an event quote from TCDS. We serve Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee and can help review venue requirements or events that need more attention. Availability and placement remain subject to underwriting.
- Where do I go for a wedding?
- Use TCDS's separate wedding insurance page for wedding-specific options. Keeping wedding and non-wedding requests separate helps you start with the appropriate application and coverage questions.
